Visual Art of Karnataka
Belakindi website and Belakindi Publication intends to initiate a dialogue about Postcolonial Visual Arts. Though a discourse about visual culture does exist, the dominance of English language is evident within. This is an attempt to nurture, preserve and develop that pedagogic rigor in Kannada language as well.
The visual culture of Karnataka is rich but lacks an interdisciplinary interactive ability. Belakindi intends to address this. Another intention of Belakindi is to get influenced by the rich cultural discourse evident within Kannada literature. As a part of this attempt, Belakindi intends to reflect upon the non-literal community’s potentiality. The insights and outlooks that are hidden within visual culture need an outlet through Belakindi.
